폴 자렛(Paul Jarrett: 티모시 버스필드 분)과 그의 부인 린제이(Lindsey Jarrett: 캐서린 퀸란 분)는 대도시 생활의 스트레스에서 벗어나기 위하여 한적한 교외에 전원주택을 구입한다.
그곳에는 이전의 집주인이었던 할머니가 생존 당시 돌보던 고양이들이 도둑고양이가 되얼 집 주위를 배회하고 있다.
플라렛은 이 사실을 무심히 넘겨 버린다.
하지만 이때부터 폴라렛 부부를 향한 고양이들의 위협이 시작된다.
